Our members come from government, corporate, academic, and independent backgrounds, including federal and state legislators, policy analysts, tax professionals, academics, students, and other engaged individuals. The CTPC Graduate Research Award, established to honor exceptional academic contributions in government finance and taxation, recognizes innovative and impactful dissertation research. Graduate students enrolled at accredited institutions in the U.S. and Canada who will earn their doctoral degree within a specified time frame are eligible to apply.

Submissions are reviewed by a panel of experts who evaluate originality, clarity, and the significance of the research. The award includes a $2,000 prize for the top dissertation, with the option to publish in the CTPC Journal. Additionally, two honorable mentions with awards of $1,000 each may be given. Winners are announced each September, with awards presented at the CTPC Annual Tax Policy Summit. Award recipients are also invited to present their research at the Annual Summit.
